The contract will identify the camp facilities to be utilized, and services needed, such as lines, or special supervision needs such as Pool use. It will also identify users' responsibilities. All procedures and policies listed herein, are binding on both parties. A copy of current Homeowners insurance showing liability coverate or your groups' Certificate of Insurance must be attached to the contract and indicate thaqt the Camp and Middlesex County are held harmless if an injury occurs. 2. Supervision A member of the Camp staff will be available at all times for emergencies. The on duty staff member will meet your group on arrival. The group must provide adequate supervision for its members at all times. A responsiblie adult(21 years or older) must sleep in any facility housing youth members of the group. Children and youth and adequate suprvision. Supervise all children an youth for their safety. The minimum counselor ratio for youth groups is one (1) counselor per eight (8) youth. Adults or counselors are responsible for the supervision of youth at all times. 3. Location The Camp is located in Roosevelt Park. The Camp is under the jurisdiction of the County Park Rangers. the Park Rangers and Edison Police do drive through the Camp on a routine basis as part of their patrol route. Roosevelt Park closes at dusk. All persons should remain on Camp grounds after dusk. Should someone need to leave the Camp grounds, please stay on the main roads. If walking, you should carry a flash light. 4. Parking DO NOT BLOCK OR PARK AROUND ENTRANCES KEEP ALL ROADWAY OPEN. All private cars are to be parked behind the Dining Hall. If this lot fills, park cars in the parking lot near the tennis courts or across roosevelt Drive. Do not drive through the Camp unnecessarily. If using your car on grounds, please observe the speed limit of 5 miles per hour. Please remember people may be walking on Camp grounds. Groups MUST provide security/traffic through the Parks department at (732) 745-3926 if the group is 100 people more and need the overflow lot across the street. 5. Fires Open firs are not permitted without a Permit from the Town of Edisons. Fire egress plan is posted in each building. In the event of a fire, the alarm will go off. Evacuate the building according to the plan. the Camp Officer on duty will notify the Fire department. Do not block or park around entrances that will need to be accessible to the Fire or Police Departments. This includes all roadways in front of and around each building. No Propane tanks allowed on camp or Roosevelt Park property 6. Balloons Helium Balloons are not permitted in the Dining Hall, Log Cabin, or any other camp building due to the fact that they will set off the fire alarms. Failure to comply may result in additional charges to the rental group. i.e. forfeiting their cleaning fee, fire department fees, etc. 7. Theft The Camp assumes no responsibility for loss, breakage or theft of any personal or group belongings. 8. Alcohol and Controlled Substances Controlled substances are prohibited from the Camp and the Park 9. Inspections The Camp reserves the right to inspect all buildings and activities during the term of this contract. 10. Guns Explosives, flammables, and snow mobiles, pets, off road vehicles, fishing and hunting are prohibited in the Park and on the Camp grounds. Repairs If you notice any problem requiring maintenance attention, please notify the Camp Staff on duty, so that repairs are made in timely fashion. Groups accept liability for damages or clean up to Middlesex County Recreation Council Kiddie Keep Well Camp property, beyond ordinary wear and tear caused by any group member or the contracting group. 12. Loaned Equipment Camp equipment has been provided to our Camp by donations by the public and cannot be loaned out. 13. Pool The Pool can only be used in the presence of an appropriate number of qualified lifeguards. All Lifeguards you have must present a copy of their certificates with your contract. The Pool use must conform to existing Camp Policy. No one can enter the Pool area if under restraint in a wheelchair. 14. Kitchen and Safety Procedures These guidelines will ensure that the kitchen is run safely and properly When using the dishwasher ensures that the temperature is at 100F. When washing dishes by hand, use the 3 dip method (1) soapy water, (2) clean water, (3) sanitizer. NOTE: Regularly change rinse water. Ensure all utensils and equipments are clean and sanitized before use. Users must ensure that the time potentially hazardous food remains in the danger zone is limited (40F-140F). Check all bathrooms for cleanliness on a daily basis. Pre-rinse ALL dishes well before placing them into the dishwasher. Change dishwasher water after each meal. Clean dishwasher screen after each meal. All dishes must be air dried, NOT “wiped dry. Place all clean dishes into dish room after they are dry. Ensure that the cooler and freezer doors are shut tightly. Turn kitchen lights off after kitchen use. Turn heat down to 68 degrees before departure (if applicable). Turn A/C up to 75 degrees before departure (if applicable). Ensure all trash is emptied into dumpsters. Return all furniture to its original place. Lock all doors upon departure. 15. Things to think about while using our lodging facilities. Please call the staff “On Duty” to let them you are leaving. Ensure all lights are off after use. Ensure coffee machine is clean and un-plugged. Empty all garbage cans into dumpsters. Do a general sweep of area before departure. Return all bunks and furniture to their original location. There will be First Aid kits and fire extinguishers in all facilities used. Please take notice to locate then upon arrival. To report any injury or accidents use the ACA incident Report Form in the First Aid box. It is important that all incidents that require First Aid be reported. Emergency Procedures Telephones are located at Schirber hall and across from the office on the porch of Huron (Cabin I) Dial 911 from any phone including your cell phone for Fire&Rescue or Police/Sheriff Give the following information: Location: Kiddie Keep Well Camp Address: 35 Roosevelt Dr. Edison, NJ-08837 Your Name: Location of accident or emergency situation: Stay Calm: It takes the local emergency and fire departments approximately 5 minutes to arrive. Make sure that their vehicles can access the building and roads. Have someone on the main road to meet and direct to the site of the emergency. Contact the Kiddie Keep Well Staff on duty and advise them of the situation. Monday through Friday the office hours are: 8am to 5pm. Saturday and Sunday contact the staff person on call (contact sheets are provided to each group). Any accident or illness or first aid treatment must be reported to the staff person on duty before you leave the grounds. All user groups must hae a vehicle available at Middlesex County Recreation Council Kiddie Keep Well Camp in the event of emergencies. If your group is arriving by bus please have an accompanying vehicle on the grounds. Kiddie Keep Well Camp rules prohibit the transportation of person in vehicles not designed for passengers. (i.e pick up truck beds, etc.) All groups must collect the following health information on each member of the group, and have it accessible during the group’s visit: Name and Address: Emergency contact names and numbers: Any known allergies or health conditions requiring treatment restrictions, or other accommodations while on site: For minors without a parent on site, signed permission to seek emergency treatment or a religious waiver. All rental groups must have at least one person on site, certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) We are located in a Public Park, in a residential community, all activities must be concluded by 10pm. This rule applies to outside activities as well as inside activities.
